What year did you first start practicing yoga?
I had a short stint in “cold” Hatha Yoga in 2011, but I started practicing Bikram Yoga in January 2012.
Was there any particular reason you started practicing yoga?
I had just graduated college, but not the habits that came with it: drinking, late night snacks, and lack of exercise. I knew that yoga was supposed to be good for you but also not too hard. A friend recommended a local studio, so I gave it a try. It was the hardest workout of my life, but after my third class, I was hooked on the feeling of well being and happiness after my class.
Favorite posture and why?
Camel. It makes my spine feel amazing, and dropping into camel is always the best part of my day!
Why do you currently practice this yoga?
I practice to stay healthy and happy! I am also in training for the National Yoga Asana Championships, but I like to keep my training regimen fun.
What do you love about teaching yoga?
I love my students! They are my inspiration, and I love helping my students discover something new about themselves! Whether it is a helping a new yogi touch their toes for the first time, or an powering through a veteran’s plateau, my students are my inspiration.
